The constructive analysis of Madrid's old timber-framed collective courtyard buildings, whether demolished, preserved intact, or enlarged, has achieved the dating of relevant case studies. New parameters established in this study set a chronology based on front sector original projects: old (1737–1788), pre-modern (1788–1847) and modern (1847–1892). The on-site inspection and archival research point to ongoing misleading construction in the historic Southern area. Some modern corralas erected on top of pre-existing buildings confirm the initial hypothesis. First dimensioning rules for new façades and the stability required in old ones before adding new storeys, maintaining the original masonry or double-layered system, are discovered. Undated buildings suggest their possible origin a la malicia and a later transformation into transitional corralas. Finally, an analysis of the demolished courtyards narrows down the dating and points to new conjectures in some preserved by showing their uneven layout, old features, and structural discordances in each sector.  相似文献

Using electric storage systems (ESSs) is known as a viable strategy to mitigate the volatility and intermittency of renewable distributed generators (DGs) in microgrids (MGs). Among different electric storage technologies, battery energy storage (BES) is considered as the best option. In unit commitment (UC) module, the set of committed dispatchable DGs along with their power, power exported to/imported from macrogrid and status and power of ESS units are determined. In this paper, BES degradation is considered in UC formulation and an efficient particle swarm optimisation with quadratic transfer function is proposed for solving UC in BES‐integrated MGs, while the uncertainties of demand, renewable generation and market price are considered and dealt with robust optimisation. UC is formulated as a multi‐objective optimisation problem whose objectives are MG operation cost and BES degradation. The resultant multi‐objective optimisation problem is converted into a single‐objective optimisation problem and the effect of weight factors on MG operation cost and BES lifecycle are investigated. The results show that by consideration of BES degradation in objective function, BES lifecycle increases from 350 to 500 and the minimum depth of charge increases from 5.5% to 34%; however, MG operation cost increases from $8717 to $8910.2. The results also show that by consideration of uncertainties, MG's operation cost increases by 8.22%.  相似文献

Simulation is a powerful tool for improving, evaluating and analyzing the performance of new and existing systems. Traffic simulators provide tools for studying transportation systems in smart cities as they describe the evolution of traffic to the highest level of detail. There are many types of traffic simulators that allow simulating traffic in modern cities. The most popular traffic simulation approach is the microscopic traffic simulation because of its ability to model traffic in a realistic manner. In many cities of Saudi Arabia, traffic management represents a major challenge as a result of expansion in traffic demands and increasing number of incidents. Unfortunately, employing simulation to provide effective traffic management for local scenarios in Saudi Arabia is limited to a number of commercial products in both public and private sectors. Commercial simulators are usually expensive, closed source and inflexible as they allow limited functionalities. In this project, we developed a local traffic simulator “KSUtraffic” for traffic modeling, planning and analysis with respect to different traffic control strategies and considerations. We modeled information specified by GIS and real traffic data. Furthermore, we designed experiments that manipulate simulation parameters and the underlying area. KSUTraffic visualizes traffic and provides statistical results on the simulated traffic which would help to improve traffic management and efficiency.  相似文献

This paper proposes a robust optimization approach for multiple damage identification of plate-like structures. Different from traditional particle swarm optimizations (PSOs), a combined PSO and niche technique (NPSO) is proposed to solve multimodal optimization problems, with the full consideration of subswarm creation, merging and absorbing mechanism. As a hypersensitive parameter to damage, the curvature mode shape is adopted to construct the objective function. Case studies are conducted to investigate the effectiveness and robustness of the algorithm on multi-damage identification. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm exhibits robust search performance on identifying damage locations accurately with good convergence behavior. It is hoped that this study can provide guidance on robust damage detection, especially when the structure is subject to multiple damages and external disturbances.  相似文献

Core–shell structures have been proposed to improve the electrical properties of negative-temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor ceramics. In this work, Al2O3-modified Co1.5Mn1.2Ni0.3O4 NTC thermistor ceramics with adjustable electrical properties were prepared through citrate-chelation followed by conventional sintering. Co1.5Mn1.2Ni0.3O4 powder was coated with a thin Al2O3 shell layer to form a core–shell structure. Resistivity (ρ) increased rapidly with increasing thickness of the Al2O3 layer, and the thermal constant (B) varied moderately between 3706 and 3846 K. In particular, Co1.5Mn1.2Ni0.3O4@Al2O3 ceramic with 0.08 wt% Al2O3 showed the increase of ρ double, and the change in its B was less than 140 K. The Co1.5Mn1.2Ni0.3O4@Al2O3 NTC ceramics showed high stability, and their grain size was relatively uniform due to the protection offered by the shell. The aging coefficient of the ceramic was less than 0.2% after aging for 500 hours at 125°C. Taken together, the results indicate that as-prepared Co1.5Mn1.2Ni0.3O4@Al2O3 NTC ceramics with a core–shell structure may be promising candidates for application as wide-temperature NTC thermistor ceramics.  相似文献

Research for high-performance lead-free piezoelectric materials has become an urgent issue from the environmental concern. Very limited attempts on two-step sintering had been made so far. In this study, (K0.45Na0.55)0.98Li0.02Nb0.76Ta0.18Sb0.06O3 ceramics were prepared by both conventional sintering and two-step sintering. Piezoelectric properties, microstructure and domain structure were found to change significantly with sintering methods and sintering conditions. Two-step sintering was performed in the way that temperature is first quickly raised to 1180 °C, kept for 1 min, then immediately cooled down to 1120 °C and maintained for a desired time length. The effects of dwelling time on piezoelectric performance and microstructure as well as domain structure were investigated. High piezoelectric properties of d33 = 455 pC/N, kp = 0.54 and k33 = 0.67 were obtained in a ceramic prepared under the dwelling time of 20 h. This ceramic also possesses a very good piezoelectric thermal-ageing stability over −50 °C–150 °C. Further investigation reveals that this ceramic has a quite uniform grain-size distribution with the average grain size of about 12 μm in microstructure and shows domain patterns of simple parallel stripes with a hierarchical nanodomain structure appearing inside some of broad stripes. The observed excellent piezoelectric performance is considered to associate closely with the unique domain structure.  相似文献

Kaolin/graphene oxide composite has been widely utilized in aero-space and architectural engineering applications due to its excellent mechanical property. Direct ink writing (DIW) is a freeform rapid prototyping technology that could be used to accurately fabricate the resulting size with complex shapes. In this study, we reported the DIW of kaolin/graphene oxide (GO) composite suspensions (KGCS) to assemble 3D structures at ambient temperature for the first time. The effects of GO on the chemical constitution and microstructure of kaolin suspensions were investigated. Rheology was characterized to ensure printability of KGCS. The addition of GO in kaolin suspensions quickened a flocculation structure, which dramatically changed their rheology properties. The DIW of 3D structures from the optimal KGCS sample maintained their initial shape without spreading. The flexural and compressive strengths of the dried optimal KGCS samples were obviously enhanced due to the improvement and reduction of the micro-defects compared from cured kaolin matrix.  相似文献

A common interpretation of Anfinsen's hypothesis states that one amino acid sequence should fold into a single, native, ordered state, or a highly similar set thereof, coinciding with the global minimum in the folding-energy landscape, which, in turn, is responsible for the function of the protein. However, this classical view is challenged by many proteins and peptide sequences, which can adopt exchangeable, significantly dissimilar conformations that even fulfill different biological roles. The similarities and differences of concepts related to these proteins, mainly chameleon sequences, metamorphic proteins, and switch peptides, which are all denoted herein “turncoat” polypeptides, are reviewed. As well as adding a twist to the conventional view of protein folding, the lack of structural definition adds clear versatility to the activity of proteins and can be used as a tool for protein design and further application in biotechnology and biomedicine.  相似文献

In this paper, a new energy management algorithm has been suggested for the ships connected with alternative energies considering the smart electricity grid features. The algorithm focuses on the use of optimum energy source on the shipboard based on the priorities of authorities such as the most economic, environmental, or both criteria at the ports. The algorithm is performed in MATLAB, and several case studies are simulated to validate the results. The 5 maritime nations, which are at different regions: United States, Belgium, Turkey, China, and Australia, are taken into account in the case studies. The actual data of a bulk carrier ship have been used to achieve tangible results in the simulations. The results of the case studies are compared to determine the changes of energy cost and released emission to meet demand of electricity on the ships. Capital cost of the proposed concept is also given to make an economic evaluation. The results show that the ship energy management algorithm provides the significant economic and environmental advantages. This paper aims to contribute to the importance of the ships in the smart electricity grid concept for the maritime and electricity sector representatives.  相似文献
